Final Notes
Greetings all! First and foremost I want to thank all of
YOU for
your participation and contribution to the various contests on this site. The
goal since it's inception was to have a spot where friends and friends of
friends can celebrate what I personally believe is the greatest sporting event
of the year. Without your participation we would have folded this site eons ago.
If you've participated regularly or if this is your first time, I'd love to see
you next year. -- bring a buddy - and branch out - next year I'd love to see
some new names in some of the more obscure contests.
In regard to this year's games - I honestly think this might have been one of
the best tournaments to date. While I wish the outcomes would be different, you
can't deny a record amount of overtimes, spreads beaten -etc. Heck of a tourney.
As for
Korynet and the winners,
here are my toasts and roasts. The Big winner this year has to be
Dave.
This is his first win after 20 years and 78 brackets.. (Ha!) Congrats. He won in
a tie breaker for the ages - the first time it went to the final score and THAT
took an OT to secure so an honorable mention goes to the 2nd place bracket of
rookie -
JoeyL.
The Lotto was also interesting this year with DUKE and VIRGINIA both losing
against the spread 6 times. Where the beans went really didn't matter as the
tribe from northeast Indiana basically cornered the market.
Luke
ended up beating
Scott
while baby
Quinn
got her first taste of winning - hopefully ensuring many return visits.
Seth won
the first annual "bracket sushi". Look for more about this next year as we open
it up to the larger group.
Seth
also won big in the auction with his bargain pickup of Texas Tech.
However, he did not win the auction title. That goes to the perennial power
house of
ShawnR.
Shawn racked up his 4th consecutive Auction title but just barely and it cost
him. What happens at the auction stays at the auction - lets just say Virginia
bailed him out big time. Steve won the 2nd annual 64 ounce draft and
Ryan won
his third NIT challenge. Rounding out the other big beanouts -
Coach
was saved by random luck with his 16-lotto win and
Feds
cornered the 5-7 box on the supergrid for a rando victory. Lastly I want to
mention this years Chump -
Steve.
The "Chump" award goes to the lowest scoring bracket. Steve ruined
KimR's 3
year sweep. What's interesting here is it's not Steve's first. This is his
3rd beating out his daughters 2 wins (which I believe were both mascot driven).
That's it folks. It was another great year and I am looking forward to the next
one. I've completed my audit so I'll be hunting most of you down over the next

The Reconing
Read it and weep.
I'm not going to lie, once my my bracket chances were tanked I rooted for
mayhem. Mayhem was delivered! Everything is up to date so read'em and weep.
(Note: Most of you need to start coughing up some beans.) This site will be back
next week when all will be settled, until then.. most of you need to keep your

First a heartfelt thank you for those in attendance this Tuesday night.
It's an annual gathering that has been happening constantly for quite some time.
