  Spreads and Outcomes
    4/5/03 5:00pm
First and foremost, the spreads for tonight...
Kansas by 4.5 over Marquette
Texas by 3 over Syracuse

What does that mean? Well, It's the oldest vs. the youngest with Olan matching up against the crowd favorite Professor Griff... followed up with our Kevin going up against the outsider "Jason T". Losers earn 21 beans, winners are guaranteed 50 with a chance for 100.

Other news:
The Upick, both the 64 and the 16, is basically down to LEE, MIKE V, RODANDELLO, EARL NASH and McNAY..
Eshawn, McNay, MikeV and Rodandello are all in the running for mucho beans from the Highest pot total ever in the Auction.
                                                                                        Good Luck! -Kdog

  First Winner Announced!
    4/5/03 9:00am
It was neck and neck (inuindo intended, sorry Tim) going into the final game, however, with St. John's Victory "Outsider" Tim T won the third annual NIT Pool. Congratulatiions!! Look for another update later this afternoon with spreads and a word from our sponser.. Kdog

  The Final Four is set
    3/30/03 9:00pm
I don't know about you, but MY bracket is sure screwed up! I've run all the reports and have added a scenario link for all you die hard stat freaks.
The Spread for today's games was TEXAS by 4.5 and Oklahoma by 3. It looks like Olan and little P. Griff have advanced to the money round in the Lotto.
Lastly, I've created a "one stop shopping" page for all previous winners etc.. It's not complete but you'll get the basic jist of what I'm shooting for.. (Tourney Archive)

  Sat. Update
    3/29/03 4:00pm
-Ok. First off. Mike Davis sucks. Ok, now that I've got that off my chest.. Some additions were made to the u-pick, I had screwed some things up and these folks reminded me.. (of course theres proper proof etc...) ;-) All of the stats are up to date as of today. As for today's spread:

It looks like Jones and his newly aquired Wildcats take on "Outsider" Jason T for the first ticket to the money-round. KENTUCKY IS FAVORED BY 6

We also have McNay vs Kevin Costner :-) in a celebrity face off. ARIZONA IS FAVORED BY 2

-That'll do it for today. Good luck and seasons greetings!! -Kdog

  Tournament History
     3/5/02
Quick.. Who won the 1976 NCAA Tournament? Ok.. that one is easy. -How about 1981? 1974? Here's a convenient list of all past winners. Tournament History

    Tourney Rules

  U Pick 'em
     3/5/03
Simple enough.. get points for correctly picking the 64 team tournament. Rounds are weighted 1,2,3,4,5 and 7. Tie breaker is correct picks first round, then second round then final score total. 5 beans per bracket.

  Lotto
     3/5/03
Same as last year, 3 to get in.. the winner gets a ton!
A one time drawing will occur before the first game of the tournament. Each pick will cost only 3 jelly beans. The winner AGAINST THE POINT SPREAD of each game advances.

Here's an example. Let's say tonight's game has the number 1 seed playing the 16th seed. The Star & News (which will be the official spread for this pool) has the number 1 seed winning by 12 points. If the number 1 seed wins by a 12 point margin or better.. The person who picked that team advances. The person who picked the 16th seed loses. If, however, the 16th seed team beats THE SPREAD by making the final score margin less than 12 points, the owner of the 16th seed now takes ownership of the 1 seed ticket. If the 16th seed team were to beat the number one seed in this example then the owner would of course keep that ticket. Don't let all this confuse you. Our crack staff will make sure that it all goes down the way it should. You don't really have to do anything but root for your teams. Every pick has the same probability for winning. Winner takes 110 Jelly beans, 2nd place gets 50 and 3rd and fourth get 16 each. Any teams not picked will be donated to the house.

  Auction
     3/5/02
This instant classic needs no explanation. The final 16 teams are auctioned to the highest bidder. For each victory your team gets you get a percentage of the pot. 1st win 5%. 2nd win 5 %. Third win 10 %. The winner wins the remainder plus a 15 bean subsidy courtesy of the U Pick'em pool. This events pot averages over 200 beans.

  16 Lotto
     3/5/02
There will be a blind draw for the 16 teams. there is NO Spread with this, what you pull is what you get. 10 beans a pull. The beans pay out are: 4th and 3rd get 15. 2nd gets 30 and 1st gets 100. I would like to see 16 different people in this on.. come on folks.. wudda ya say?

  16 U Pick 'em
     3/5/02
Simple enough.. get points for correctly picking the 16 team tournament. Rounds are weighted 1,2,3,4. Tie breaker is final score total then correct picks first round, then second round. 5 beans per bracket.
